IKA Appoints Class Coach for the 2025 World Sailing Youth Worlds

The International Kiteboarding Association (IKA) is pleased to announce the appointment of a dedicated class coach for the upcoming World Sailing Youth World Championships 2025, set to take place from 12 to 20 December 2025, in Vilamoura, Portugal.

To further empower young kiteboarders and support Member National Authorities (MNAs) in developing emerging talent, IKA has appointed Tomek Janiak of Poland as the official class coach for the event. Tomek is an internationally recognized youth coach with a proven track record, including his leadership of the successful IKA Youth Camp in Gizzeria earlier this summer. His presence in Vilamoura will ensure that young athletes receive expert guidance and support throughout the competition.

The Youth Worlds is World Sailing’s flagship youth event, bringing together the best young sailors from around the globe to compete across multiple disciplines. Kiteboarding continues to grow rapidly within the youth sailing community, and this year’s event, the first to be held after the discipline's Olympic debut in Paris last summer, promises to be a milestone for the sport.
Although the official entry period has closed, IKA is pleased to confirm that late entries will be accepted without any additional fee, thanks to an agreement with World Sailing and the Vilamoura organizers. This ensures that MNAs still have the opportunity to enter their young kiteboarders and benefit from the coaching support provided.

Entry Process
Entries must be submitted through the respective Member National Authority (MNA). For questions regarding the entry process, MNAs and sailors are encouraged to contact Mr. Pedro Rodrigues at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

IKA encourages all MNAs to take advantage of this opportunity to showcase and support their youth kiteboarding talent on the global stage. With professional coaching, waived late entry fees, and a world-class competitive environment, the 2025 World Sailing Youth Worlds in Portugal is set to be an unforgettable experience for the next generation of kiteboarding athletes.
